Life insurance offers a lump-sum payment to your beneficiary (or beneficiaries) to help cover expenses in the event of your death or a covered accidental injury. Even if you're single, the benefits can be used by your beneficiary to pay off outstanding debts—such as credit cards, a mortgage, or other final expenses.

Accidental Death and Dismemberment (AD&D) coverage provides defined benefits if you suffer a covered accidental injury that results in dismemberment, such as the loss of a hand, foot, or eye. If an accident results in death, your beneficiary (or beneficiaries) would receive 100% of the AD&D benefit.
